How To Use MoreSmarter
MoreSmarter is a SMS assistant that let's you do things reserved for smart phones through regular SMS text messages.
Things it can do:
- Give you driving/walking/public transit directions
- Get the weather
We are alpha testing the following:
- Set a "home base" for business lookups
- Lookup businesses
- Set a reminder and get texted at a later time
- Look up small tidbits of information like "what temp to cook chicken", "what's the capital of france" or "what is a fjord".
- 2FA Authentication Codes (this one is a bit tricky so might be a while until I'm comfortable releasing it)
- And more...
Onboarding/Signup
When you first message the service you'll be asked for your name and email.
It is trained on user input so the more messages you send in the better it will understand your intent. I wanted the service to have some flexibility.
How To Use
Once you've been onboarded. Send a text to
(262)-404-3965
For example, directions
(this will start an interactive session where it asks the start and end locations)
or
directions 312 Wharf ave chicago to 544 cedar street chicago
(this will send back the directions all in one go)
If you sent a full directions request and it didn't understand type directions to do the interactive mode. It is usually more accurate.

Once you've signed up for an account and signed in you can view your usage and billing information on the dashboard. You can also upgrade/downgrade your plan.
Commands
Here are some commands you can use. You don't have to text in exactly the format but it helps if the messages are straight forward with as much info as possible.
List Commands
To get a listing of commands you can use: commands or list commands or a questions where you ask it for commands.

Directions Full Mode
You can type out the full directions request in one message. This is the quickest way to get directions. We are still training to get it to be super accurate though.

Billing
You have a set number of interactions with the service per month. If you meet your limit you can upgrade to a higher tier or wait until the next month to get more interactions.
An interaction is a message sent to the service that initiates one of the commands listed above. It is 1 interaction each time you get directions. 1 interaction if you get the weather. The messages we send back to you don't count.
For example, if you send "weather park city" and we send back the weather, that's 1 interaction. If you then send "directions 312 Wharf ave chicago to 544 cedar street chicago" and we send back the directions, that's 1 also interaction. Overall, it would add up to 2.
For more information on billing or if you think we messed up your interaction count, please email [email protected]
The service is in it's early stages, so if you have issues please let us know. The last thing we want is to have you feel ripped off.
